Define Evil

Are you describing evil as an entity (like Abrahamic religions' versions of Satan)? This book (a quote had been taken from a book) describes "it"(evil) as an archetypical feedback loop of expression that is non-local (exists both within individuals and the collective, but not as a "being" rather more as wherever "good" isn't simply because it's the opposite). Anyone "good" can choose to be "evil," and vis-versa. "It" (like a vampire of the psyche both collective and individual) has no power when it's "seen" and understood, captured within understanding. "It" (evil) can only work its power from the Shadow (ignorance, avoidance, suppression)

Evil ultimately takes away Life

Answer:
Let me begin with my definition of "evil". Evil is that which takes away life.
My understanding of "evil" is from a Galactic perspective. Setting an agenda by choice enables a collective group of consciousness to "birth" from their Home/Source. At their beginning, large groups of individual consciousnesses set agendas well before the individualization we see on Earth.
Those original choices, or agendas, set courses for extending into the experiences with the expansive dimensional fields of life. In relationship to the consciousness on planet Earth, there are some groups of family members whose agendas are based on concepts of Good, i.e., joy, peace, thriving, curiosity, etc. And there are other groups whose agendas result in actions, thoughts, forms that will take away life, i.e., domination, control, usury, etc. The energies of the various agendas are present in the life force, breath that all humanity exists within.

The energy imprint of the original choices/agendas that take away life is constant in our field. I consider all that emanates from those agendas,"evil." It was worlds ago that these collectives invaded the space of those whose agendas are to bring various aspects of Good/Benefit. Invasion, to use and dominate, is their nature.
The invasion of those I consider Outsiders occurred before Earth life. Therefore before archetypes, patriarchy, racism, etc. Indeed, those agendas are the original cause/foundation for what we call "evil" or the "cancer" on planet Earth.

This is a very simple version of a much larger story. My understanding has come through years of questions and answers from those beyond Earth, including those I have named the Ancient Ones, keepers of Galactic Secrets.
